I'm a writer, media producer, video editor, and apparently game designer. In all honesty, I just love creating stories and characters. I've always loved coming up with interesting ideas for games, which is why I was so excited for this project.
As for the Mold Story, I stumbled upon it about 3 years ago just after it started. I was part of the group who originally participated with the writer and saw the story unfold daily before our eyes. It was a surreal experience that I will never forget, and one that taught me how powerful digital media can be as a storytelling medium. The author was able to directly communicate with us, in character, and in prying and asking questions we would actually learn more of the story in the comment sections than in the actual story updates themselves. Moments like these are the reasons I never forget this "digital campfire story" and why I always believe it would make a great concept for a real game. Unfortunately, I have very limited experience with programming and couldn't even begin to make this an actual game. Add to that the fact that, unless the moderators of the r/nosleep subreddit know them, NO ONE knows who the writer of the stories is. This is sad for me because even if I did have a means to create a proper game based on this story, reaching its creator would be incredibly difficult. Maybe, hopefully, someday something could happen. Because I really think this concept could work and be successful. |
